An Era Comes To An EndBathesda Mission, or our mission lodge that we lease from the Ejido (town council of Uruapan) has been a tremendous blessing the past 9 years. Housing mission teams has been a crucial part of our outreach and growth here in the Baja. It was inevitable that the time would come when the town would terminate our lease. A local group of businessmen have decided to open a restaurant and hotel at the lodge. It is with much sadness, we vacated the building in early May. Check out pictures in our picture area and feel free to send any pictures you might have taken on your recentor past trip to: michael@missions-network.orgSpecial Prayer RequestPlease pray that the Lord will open doors for more groups to feel comfortable coming to Mexico. Thereported drug cartel violence is keeping teams away. While there are some areas of Mexico that areunsafe, the Baja remains unchanged. We can absolutely assure everyone that we are kept updated onwhat is going on here and we feel completely safe. We would not encourage anyone to make a trip toUruapan, if we felt there was any kind of safety issue. We know that God Is not a God of fear, but of Love. We ask you to pray earnestly that this situation will be resolved soon. Wind & Solar ChallengeIt has been a dream since the very beginning of Mt. of Olives Children's Village to incorporate wind/solarpower at the orphanage. At first, it was a distant goal, as cost was prohibitive. However, recently therehas been a significant reduction in the cost of wind generation . Mt. of Olives Children's Village isgrowing and the need for additional power is also growing. Our power usage has skyrocketed since wehave started to house mission teams here on the property. We asked a solar/wind specialist from San Diego to come to the site to do a feasibility test. Theyrecommended a wind generator hooked into the grid to allow the meter to be turned backward. The costwould be $18,000. As always, God goes before us! We have a challenge from a donor that will donate $2 for every $1raised. We are excited about this, and we know that God has partners out there that have a heart for thisproject. If we can raise this money by October 1, 2011 the donors will come in November to Mt. of OlivesChildren's Village to help get it set up and running. Please keep this project in your prayers and if you are able to help make this dream a reality, simplymark your gift, "wind generator project" and mail to our Lynden office at P.O. Box 827, Lynden, WA98264. Please make all gifts out to: Missions Network International with "wind generator" specified on the memoof your check. Thank you for your support and may God continue to lead and direct your path.
