House #2 Officially Opens October 14, 2010 marked the ribbon cutting and the official opening of our second house. The children continue to do exceptionally well in school. An Era Comes To An End Bathesda Mission, or our mission lodge that we lease from the Ejido (town council of Uruapan) has been a tremendous blessing the past 9 years.  Housing mission teams has been a crucial part of our outreach and growth here in the Baja.  It was inevitable that the time would come when the town would terminate our lease.  A local group of businessmen have decided to open a restaurant and hotel at the lodge.  It is with much sadness, we vacated the building in early May.  Read more...  The Website Comes Alive After years of waiting for a website up-grade, our new website is up and running. Please take time to check it out! You will find all the contact info to book a trip or to make an inquiry about any questions you might have. Also you may sponsor a child or donate through our online PayPal area. Check out pictures in our picture area and feel free to send any pictures you might have taken on your recent or past trip to: michael@missions-network.org Special Prayer Request Please pray that the Lord will open doors for more groups to feel comfortable coming to Mexico.  The  reported drug cartel violence is keeping teams away. While there are some areas of Mexico that are  unsafe, the Baja remains unchanged.  We can absolutely assure everyone that we are kept updated on  what is going on here and we feel completely safe.  We would not encourage anyone to make a trip to  Uruapan, if we felt there was any kind of safety issue.   We know that God Is not a God of fear, but of Love.  We ask you to pray earnestly that this situation will be resolved soon. Wind & Solar Challenge It has been a dream since the very beginning of Mt. of Olives Children's Village to incorporate wind/solar  power at the orphanage. At first, it was a distant goal, as cost was prohibitive. However, recently there  has been a significant reduction in the cost of wind generation . Mt. of Olives  Children's Village is  growing and the need for additional power is also growing. Our power usage has skyrocketed since we  have started to house mission teams here on the property.   We asked a solar/wind specialist from San Diego to come to the site to do a feasibility test. They  recommended a wind generator hooked into the grid to allow the meter to be turned backward. The cost  would be $18,000.   As always, God goes before us! We have a challenge from a donor that will donate $2 for every $1  raised. We are excited about this, and we know that God has partners out there that have a heart for this  project. If we can raise this money by October 1, 2011 the donors will come in November to Mt. of Olives  Children's Village to help get it set up and running.  Please keep this project in your prayers and if you are able to help make this dream a reality, simply  mark your gift, "wind generator project" and mail to our Lynden office at P.O. Box 827, Lynden, WA  98264.   Please make all gifts out to: Missions Network International with "wind generator" specified on the memo  of your check. Thank you for your support and may God continue to lead and direct your path. God Bless!    News See how God has been working in our lives and the lives of our children...
