(Review by Igougo.com) Dutch Mothers has been around for years and is my favorite Lynden restaurant. The dicor is meant to resemble a Dutch home and is divided into many small rooms that are furnished with lots of lace and tulips, floral wallpaper and other knic knacs from the Netherlands. The old thick wooden tables have tiled centers with scenes from the Dutch countryside. The waitresses all wear floral dresses covered with bib aprons and are, en masse, some of the friendliest people I have ever met.

The menu is extensive with a good selection of American and Dutch favorites. As well as burgers, sandwiches and salads, there is pea soup and croquettes. Dinners include hearty home cooked meat loaf, fried chicken and pot roast -food youd find at a family Sunday dinner. I like the pot roast - gravy, fluffy mashed potatoes and for a twist - sweet and sour red cabbage is an interesting side dish. Dinners are in the $10.00 range and portions are large so theres no need for appetizers unless youre very hungry. However if you can save room for dessert you wont be disappointed. In fact, the focal point at the entrance is a large glass case filled with their daily dessert specials  cookies, cakes and extremely deep dish fruit pies. Sometimes we stop just for dessert and I can recommend the lemon chiffon or deep dish blueberry pie.

Breakfasts here are substantial. Sausages, scrambled eggs and homemade pan fries almost overflow the plate so toast has to come separately. For a change of pace, Ill order pannekoeken, a large flat pancake sort of a cross between a pancake and crepe. Topped with apple slices and cinnamon, its very filling.

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
